[October] Hitachi Seaside Park, a national park full of flowers
A trip to enjoy the spectacular display of 40,000 kochia plants and 236 million cosmos flowers.

Kochia is an annual plant belonging to the genus Kochia in the Amaranthaceae family, native to the arid regions of the Eurasian continent. Its Japanese name is "houkisou" (broom grass).
The ornamental variety "Rouge" planted on Miharashi Hill grows into a plump, rounded plant, and its color changes from green to red as the seasons change, reaching its peak autumn foliage in mid-to-late October.
Additionally, visitors can enjoy the autumn scenery with 236 million large, early-blooming cosmos flowers adorning the foot of the hill, and "Hitachi Aki Soba," a brand of Ibaraki Prefecture, spreading across the "Miharashi no Sato" area.
